Jenni Rivera Tribute At The Latin Billboards 2013

Latin Billboards 2013

I attended the Latin Billboard awards this week with my friend and fab blogger, Maria de Los Angeles (@vicequeenmaria ) compliments of Target.

Besides getting all fired up listening to all the fantastic music, I was deeply moved by a very touching tribute to Jenni Rivera who won best artist of the year.  Some of the expressions from her family were:

Hispanicize 2013 Recap ~ Mucho Sabor Latino

I attended Hispanicize recently and was honored to speak at the Tech Bloggers session. Here are some of the highlights of the conference.

Cristy Clavijo-Kish with Yolanda Pagan when they announced the Memorial Scholarship fund for Louis Pagan’s children. Louis Pagan was the co-founder of Hispanicize and one of the first people I met on the Latism Twitter parties. He was such a nice man who inspired many Latinos in the blogosphere and social media. Unfortunately, he passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. This was a very emotional tear jerking moment since Yolanda, his widow and children came on to the stage.

You can donate here: Louis Pagan Memorial Fund.

This has happened to me with several people in the last couple of years and I do believe it was necessary for all of our growths. I am referring to platonic friendships in this case, not romantic relationships. When you are in a marriage or a committed intimate relationship, I believe a lot more effort should be made to work things out.

In friendships, there is an opportunity to grow together with good harmonious and open communication. But what if that communication doesn’t happen? Or what if that communications is a constant struggle? In this case, I believe it is necessary to let go so each person can live whatever they need to do on their own individual path. If you are growing in a certain way, and the other person has no connection at all with what you are doing or remotely interested in you, your projects or what is currently going on in your life, then why keep holding on? …

Words of Wisdom Through the Golden Nugget

Words of WisdomLife is a journey that takes us through winding paths to discover many lessons. Imagine that the lessons are like prizes in the form of golden nuggets through words of wisdom at a crossroads on our path.

Sometimes we end up in certain situations that create negativity or heaviness which prevent us from seeing the golden nugget of wisdom hanging right above our heads. Maybe the key is just as simple as taking a moment to grab the nugget and see what the lesson is.

Examining this wisdom contained within it might give us that “AHA” moment that gives us a burst of energy and upliftment and a sudden realization of why this path was necessary to embark on.
