Seeing the Big Picture From The Plane On Southwest Air

When I started my journey of blogging four years ago, I simply had a vision of wanting to inspire in some way. To be able to get in that inspired mode, I spent many days going to the beach to see the sunrises and sunsets, besides taking pictures of my butterfly garden. That is where I find the quiet time to reflect and look ahead at my life.

I took this photo of the beautiful sunset on the airplane on my way back from Latism 12 Conference as I looked out the window many miles high in the sky.  Same sun, different view…

During the course of these years, I have met many beautiful people I now consider friends. In fact, I can honestly say that 90% of the people I interact with now never existed in my life a few short years ago.  That is pretty amazing considering the fact that I am in middle age.

Latism has opened many doors to connections I never imagined while viewing those beautiful sunsets and sunrises on the beach. In fact, I never even imagined myself having a digital agency, doing community management for Microsoft, or having daily interactions with Latina bloggers and an active Social Media community in South Florida.  Additionally, I never imagined speaking at conferences, being the Co-director of Latism South Florida or on the Board of Social Media Club South Florida.

I really couldn’t imagine that four years ago, because these organizations didn’t even exist!  So how did I end up doing all this? The only answer I have is because of the support of like minded people who were discovering the very same thing I was. We were like pioneers in this whole new Social Media/New Media World. I believe that the passion of all the people involved created this new and exciting paradigm I am happily enmeshed in.

So today, I would like to thank all the men and women who have crossed my path in these few short years. I am eternally grateful for you because I would have never done any of these things if it wasn’t for you, no matter how large or small you have touched my life, you matter to me.

I haven’t been able to be so inspirational on this blog because I am so busy now!  But my goal for this next year is to take the time for what matters the most….taking the time to see the big picture and continue on this exciting journey. Thank you for taking it with me and if you are reading this and I have never said hi or don’t know you, there’s room for many. We really are creating a new world. Don’t you think?

I want to take a moment to thank Southwest Airlines for sponsoring my trip to Latism 12 Conference. It was the first time ever I have flown with them and it really was a great experience. Their open seating system was unique, organized and pretty cool. And of course, I’m was happy to see the big picture again with that beautiful sunset from your airplane;)

Connect with them on Twitter at SouthwestAir and follow the hashtag #SWAvamonos or on Facebook. Also, did you know that they are the first airline to have a complete bilingual site? Check it out! Southwest Air.

Once I get settled, I will write my recap post of the conference. In the meantime, please enjoy these pictures I took: Latism 12 on Mi Caminar Facebook. Don’t forget to tag yourself if you are in them:)
