I got invited to attend “A Universal Affair”, Universal Music Latin Entertainment’s official awards show after party at Epic Hotel. It was sponsored by Universal Music and Ketel One Vodka. Thank you, my fabulous blogger friend, Maria de Los Angeles for the invite via Hunter PR.

One of our friends, Stephanie Camargo, aka @midtownchica, and other PR girls asked us if we wanted to do interviews on the red carpet as the Latin music stars arrived. I wondered how I could get an interview as I watched Mega TV and Papparazzi TV hounding the stars with super fancy equipment vs. me with my little teeny weeny flip cam. By the way, all the cameramen were super nice and down to earth. I was just intimidated by the monstrous equipment they carried.
“Just get in there, and start talking,” Stephanie coached. Off I went and voila…. my chatterbox mouth kicked in. It was so much fun asking the stars: “Que les llena en el corazon y que les inspira?” (What fills your heart and inspires you?) Ha..ha.. an inspirational paparazzi blogger! All the while Maria was tweeting pictures of me showing my interview technique. It was fun..fun…fun.
After getting my feet wet with the wonderful Larry Hernandez, Rakel, Ana Isabelle and 24 Horas, I wanted to get some of the big fish…like Christian Castro and Enrique Iglesias. Not bad for a newbie, eh? I missed Christian Castro on the red carpet, but at one moment I saw all the cameramen rush to a car getting ready to leave. Instinct tells me..this is a big fish! I nabbed it..a 3 second video clip of Christian Castro blowing me a kiss. (See the very beginning of my video) Wow..totally star struck…yum..
Shortly after, I see Enrique Iglesias strolling down the red carpet. But alas, I am the tiny fish blogger and no way could I get a chance to interview Enrique. Maybe next time;) But check out the nice close up picture I got.
But you know what? As I experienced my first star studded close up moments as a paparrazzi inspiration blogger, I thought everyone is a star too! Everyone has some gift that is waiting to shine or maybe it already has or is in the process of emerging. We just need to go for it and let it out!
In my excitement of asking the stars what inspires them, I was thinking of my Latism (Latinos In Social Media) familia and got some love and shout out from the stars in the video.
Other Latin music stars we saw were Adriana de Maura, Chino, Gustavo Galindo, Joey Montana, Rene Camacho and Walter Kolm. And thank you Rakel, Larry Hernandez, 24 Horas and Ana Isabelle for indulging me in my first paparazzi event. You all were very sweet and kind.
