Fun Time With My Son & A Ford Escape Review

When people ask me what I blog about, I usually say I blog about inspiration, motivation and leadership with the heart and about sharing special moments with my son. I am not a mom blogger because he is now a 6’2″, 190 lb. man, but the biggest highlight of my entire life has been being a mom to my only son who is now 19 years old. He is one of the biggest inspiration of my life and my happiest moments are random moments that make him happy.

Recently, Ford let me test out the Ford Escape for a few days. The car was delivered on a rainy Saturday while my son was studying for his final exams at FIU( Florida International University). While I was on the computer in another room, he heard a sound outside and as he looked out the window and yelled to me: “Mom, come over here! Get your camera!

As I ran outside to see what the commotion was, I see his perplexed face questioning why a McClaren MP4, which comes with a price tag of about $250,000, is in our front yard along with the Ford Escape. It was a funny moment because my son is an exotic car buff , is pretty popular on his Flickr account and even has his own website, Exotic Car Life.  After a few minutes, the driver whisked away with the McClaren. Ok, so we didn’t get to test drive the McClaren, but we immediately took a test drive in the Ford Escape on our way to get some ice cream.

He got his mini thrill and I got to experience a fun moment with my son which makes me happy:) At 19, he is not home at much as he is out with his friends and super involved with his fraternity at FIU. So any enjoyable rare moment I get to share with him is a quality moment.

This video is a real live review from a 19 year old, and you know what? He thought it was a pretty cool car! On our way to Coldstone ice cream, we saw a Porsche which didn’t thrill him and he even called it ugly! The first thing he said about the Ford Escape was that he liked the look and feel  and wouldn’t mind having as his own.(Trust me, he is picky with the look of cars!)

For a small economical car, while I tested it for 3 days,  I was surprised with the smooth drive, comfort and all the modern features. So I definitely give it a thumbs up.

As for the McClaren, well Cristian is studying to be a business entrepreneur and maybe one day he will achieve his dream of having an exotic car of his own;)

Disclosure: Ford let me use the car for 3 days to review without compensation. All opinions are my own and honest.

I am also happy to give Ford some blogging love because they are sponsoring our Latism South Florida Tweetup today in Miami and which I am a proud director of! Check out our Tweets tonite with #FordMiamiLatism as we launch our chapter in South Florida for some social good, Latino style!
