Home Workouts: A Spark To Get You Motivated To Exercise

home-workouts

I am taking the plunge in doing this video to give you a little motivation and oomph to start some home workouts with hand weights.  I was a little nervous to get on camera in this way. In the past, I have done other kinds of videos interviewing people, but this was a little different. I don’t know why, since I am in a lot of pictures from being a somewhat social media butterfly. I guess it’s because this video was focused on just me. All the pictures I have out there on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are mainly with people and am not one of those solo selfie picture takers.

Also, I am 54 years old and not a fitness expert, but I have been actively exercising all my life. I thought, “Who the heck am I to give tips on exercise when there are so many other people doing the same thing and much, much younger?” But hey, it’s my blog and it’s something I have been wanting to share because eating healthy and exercising are a very big part of my life and I have been doing it for over 30 years!

And I hope that at middle age, if you are there or not, you can strive to stay healthy for a lifetime besides  keeping a clear positive mind and incorporating meditation to experience peace. Those three aspects body, mind and spirit need to be balanced for a happy and fulfilled life.

I want to show every day fitness because my body is not perfect as it ages. When I was doubting whether to post this  after doing the video, I saw this tweet:

So, I went with my heart and my goal in this video is to mainly show you that if I can do it at my age, then anyone can if you are in decent health. Knock on wood, I am in good health. I can imagine it is difficult for some people to exercise and lose weight because of health reasons. I have alot of compassion for anyone that is struggling with any health issue. …

Love, Ka, Bellagio Fountains & Fire Dazzled My Senses In Las Vegas

I extended my trip while in Las Vegas last week for a few days to catch some Cirque de Soleil and enjoy some time off. I had been there maybe about 10 years ago and remember being awed by the Bellagio Fountains. So it was on the top of my list of things to see. I captured a little video here with the water show playing the Beatles song, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

What lasts in our memories are experiences, even if for a short time, to dazzle our senses. Watching the water dance to the melody of the song kind of made me go want to go to a ballroom and dance with a handsome man right after! I can close my eyes and keep seeing the rhythmic flow of the combination of lights, water, splash and music create it’s magic.

Here is one with Time To Say Goodbye by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. This one makes me want to cry! But isn’t it better to cry and feel an experience than not have one at all?  That my friend is living life at its best- feeling emotion that moves us ;)

Hispana Leadership Summit 2013 Recap and My Commitment To Be Vulnerable

I’ve been trying to catch up this month on all the blog posts I wanted to do. Hispana Leadership Summit was one of those events I almost missed out on because I had so much going on in September. I had four conferences back to back and almost didn’t go at the last minute.   I am so glad I didn’t because it was one of the best conferences I have ever gone to.

Some fun highlights on video:

First I would like to thank Space Coast Credit Union for taking a group of us from Miami to Orlando on a bus. I didn’t have to drive plus the time on the bus was priceless because I got to bond with some amazing women.

Vanidades and Poder Magazine  put on a top notch event at Disney’s Grand Floridian and Resort. …
