Aknowledgement, Gratefulness and Giving Back

Johnson and Johnson had a full crew with professional sound and light equipment videoing the Latism 11 conference attendees and asking them: “How do you use social media for social good?” I answered that social media has been a place for me to find my voice and together all those individual voices creates one very big voice.

In this way, the community voice of Latism has been built. Because of Latism, I was able to meet many bloggers in person at Blogher 2010 through a scholarship. And now, I attended this wonderful event in Chicago sponsored by I Hispano. Because Latism is a non-profit, all this couldn’t have happened without the support of ALL the sponsors.

So as I said in the video, by being acknowledged in my little teeny voice amongst many, it makes me want to give back to those that made it possible.

So today, I want to simply say thank you to all the companies that gave to the community of Latism. Because of your generous support, my life has been more enriched by being surrounded by many who are making a difference with their voices.

Sometimes we get caught up in all our to do’s and all we need is a gentle reminder to thank someone that did something nice for you, be it directly or indirectly. Many coincidences and serendipitous moments happen because of an action that someone you might not aware of did. People don’t like to ask to be acknowledged, but it sure feels nice. Right?

P.S. A big kudos to Jake Lepiarz, who does the interviews for Johnson and Johnson, a genuine and  all around nice guy!
